7pm and the original girlboss

13.10.15

Girlboss is one of those books I tugged along with me when i moved overseas. it's the only book I've ever read that i would want to read and stop reading at the same time because it makes me want to work straight away. a few weeks ago she came on her girlbuss tour (gawd, this must be one of the greatest play on words, ever) and i had to go.

it was only 2 blocks from where i work, and i unplannededly (this needs to be a real word) ended up next to the music section - it was a sign. sophia amoruso must be one of the coolest girls ever. seeing how she built her growing empire from absolute scratch is just so ridiculously inspiring that as i'm writing this, i want to work at the same time. She advocates hard work, entrepreneurialism and creativity without actually saying so, but by being so. it wasn't a motivational speech at all, but being in the room with someone who really earned what she has now from nothing was what really spoke. must. work. hard.

love and peace sign,
maia
